Birds of the North Woods

with Ornithologist, David Flaspohler, MTU School of Forest Resources and
Environmental Science
Michigan's Upper Peninsula has more breeding birds than almost any other part of the U.S! Special guest, Dr. Flaspohler, will explain why and describe the diverse breeding birds of Upper Peninsula forests. His talk will highlight some of the most common forest birds and how you can identify them by sight and song.
7:15 pm Hands-On Activity Stations (15 minutes each)
(1) Fill the bill!
(2) Bird talk!
(3) What did the owl have for dinner?
(4) Build a bird!
(5) Can you build a bird nest?
8:00 pm Depart (please complete an evaluation form before you leave!)
