Whitefish Pt Lighthouse & Shipwreck Museum Teacher Workshop

About the Workshop

Explore the historical and modern aspects of Great Lakes shipping at Whitefish Point. This workshop is a unique opportunity to experience the rich history of Great Lakes shipping.

The goal of the workshop is the development of a pre/post- field trip activity guide for visiting K-12 students. Each workshop participant will be required to write one lesson that will become part of the activity guide for Whitefish Point Lighthouse & Shipwreck Museum for teachers and youth group leaders to use prior to, or after, visiting Whitefish Point and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. The workshop begins at 11 am Thursday, and ends at 4 pm, Friday.  There will be an optional visit to Michigan's oldest cranberry bog farm from 4:30-6 pm, Friday.
