4th Biennial Lake Superior Youth Symposium Student Teams & Sponsors STUDENT TEAMS
Upon their arrival at the symposium, students will be assigned to
a "TEAM" of twelve students. TEAM stands for 'Together We
Achieve More.' In their TEAMs, students will list their local con-cerns
for Lake Superior, draw from what they are learning at the
symposium to identify solutions, and summarize their thoughts
into a poster to share with other symposium participants. TEAM
recommendations will be shared with the International Joint
Commission. Students will also make personal commitments to
implement in their schools and communities after the symposium.
FIND A LOCAL SPONSOR Students and teachers are encouraged to look for local sponsors
to help with registration and travel costs. Many of the following
organizations support environmental education, teacher training,
and student involvement in the community. Contact the organizations
in your local area to inquire about the possibility of having
them sponsor students or teachers to attend the symposium.
We will post the availability of sponsorships from around the Lake Superior watershed on the symposium website. Update 08FEB2001 |
