Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association (MI-AWWA)
Offers Two $1,000 Grants for Science Teachers to Purchase Water-Related Equipment

The Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association (MI-AWWA) is offering two $1,000 grants to science teachers who would like to improve their ability to conduct hands-on instruction in water resources in their classroom. Examples of past grant requests include: groundwater or surface water models, water sampling and analysis equipment, and resource books.  The goal of the grant is to provide something sustainable for your classroom.

Grants are not typically awarded for one-time field trips. MI-AWWA prefers to provide equipment that can be used year after year.

The MI-AWWA is a nonprofit group made up of professionals in the Michigan drinking water industry including water works personnel, consulting engineers and scientists, regulators, vendors, and manufacturers.  One of our goals of our organization is to serve as a resource for water education in the Michigan schools, and one of the ways we've tried to accomplish this is by providing grants to improve the hands-on portion of your water curriculum.
