The community is invited to the Lake Superior Celebration at Michigan Tech's Great Lakes Research Center (GLRC) from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, April 22. The event, hosted by the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative (LSSI), is FREE, family-friendly, and open to all.
There will be a variety of informative displays by local agencies and organizations throughout the Great Lakes Research Center, including the popular "Superior Taste" which will showcase locally grown and produced products of the Lake Superior region. Other activities include tours of the new Great Lakes Research Center, hands on activities for youth, presentations by Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative (LSSI) school-community teams, the first public showing of the new PBS video on the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative (including LSSI students and teachers), and a presentation on Wildflowers of the U. P. by Bob Wild, Chief of Interpretation, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.
