Environmental Education Positions at MTU

The Western U.P. Center for Science, Mathematics & Environmental Education is seeking qualified applicants for 2 AmeriCorps positions:

Environmental Education Program Assistant - develops, coordinates and conducts environmental education field trips, after-school classes, and other outreach programs for K-12 students in 20 school districts in Houghton, Baraga, Gogebic, and Ontonagon Counties. Qualifications: B.S. in forestry, biology, applied ecology or related science. Education experience or training recommended. Program coordination and marketing experience are a plus.

Compensation: $11,000/year living allowance, plus $4,725 educational award received at completion of each year of service.

The position is for 25-40 hours/week beginning Sept. 5, 2006 through June 2007. Some flexibility possible.
