GE 5130 Geology of Utah’s National Parks Mathematics and Navigation for Teachers ~ June 19-23 Learn the theory and practice of marine navigation, and solve navigation problems using mathematics, instrumentation, and GPS aboard the Michigan Tech research vessel Agassiz. 2 cr. ED 5661 Flyer with Contacts or as PDF Ecology of Isle Royale ~ June 19-24 Field-based camping experience in Isle Royale Nat’l Park that focuses on ecological concepts, wilderness ethics, biostatistics, and biometrics. 3 cr. Content-rich course taught by an expert on the Upper Peninsula. 2 cr. July 2006 Global Change Institute for Teachers, July 17-21; Focus on skills to engage middle/high school students in real-world study of global climate change and its effects on ecosystems. Content Addresses standards for mathematics and life, earth and physical sciences. 3 cr.
